If YOU won the Lottery…..

What would you do if you won the lottery?

Superficially you might give some thought to expensive toys, luxuries and destinations.

To setting up some of your friends and family.

To supporting your favourite charity.

But what would YOU do then?

A client asked me that question the other day.

I replied that I love what I do, when I do it and who I do it with.

So…

I would carry on doing what I do but I would buy an equity stake in my coaching clients’ practices. Either a 25% minority stake or the whole lot.

I would aim to create a private dental group that adhered to core values around decency, excellence and long-term profits, not short-term capital speculation.

I would provide an honourable exit route and a fair price for the Boomer Principals with smaller practices who didn’t want to sell their team and their patients down the river.

I would provide a career pathway for committed Millennial Associates who didn’t want to bash out UDA’s in crummy surgeries seeing unappreciative people.

I would bring The Digital Dental Business to life in the independent sector.

I would authentically regard team members as an asset on the balance sheet and not an expense on the P&L.

I would leave a legacy that proved independent dentistry could be delivered profitably and ethically.

I would create a Dental Dragons service that provided reasonable financial backing and experienced business support for people with bright ideas and bigger futures.

At which point, my client asked:

“So why don’t you just do that anyway?”

Which got me thinking about how I would raise the money and about the answer to my biggest current personal question – “so what next?”

What would YOU do if you won the lottery?
