Where were you?

I was sitting in the living room of my grandparents terraced house in Gorton, Manchester (a Coronation Street look-a-like) and, at the age of 15 years, was temporarily living with them as my mother was in a psychiatric hospital and my father working.
I remember staying up all night, falling asleep and waking to hear Armstrong say “one small step for man” – I can recall being barely able to see the TV picture on the small black and white screen.
The following is a short montage of photographs taken at the then equivalent of high-def – pictures of the voyage and destination that are much clearer than anything we saw at the time.
How we thought the world might change – and it did.
