The Female Principal blog series part 7: The gay friend

The gay friend
Every female principal needs a male gay friend.
A male gay friend will seldom be a soul-mate – that’s not what gay friends do.
But they will:

  • listen
  • appreciate
  • cry
  • make you laugh
  • cuddle
  • never ask you to have sex with them
  • never need you to feed them
  • make you laugh some more
  • never fart in your presence

and that’s why they are arguably the perfect male friend.
I think one of the reasons I’ve been successful coaching X-Women over the years is that my feminine side is in the ascendant.
I’ve never been one for larding it up at the pub, never played male team sports, prefer the company of women as my repertoire of jokes about beer, cars, sport and breasts is limited.
Annie describes me as a gay guy with a straight cock.
I’m not offering to be your gay male friend – but I can complement him!
