The 7connections Mastermind Group 2013/14

How to get your “mojo” back, make life-long friends and break through to the next level in your business

An invitation for you to join our 2013/14 MMG (Mastermind Group)

We are excited to announce the formation of the first 7connections Mastermind Group.

10 Members will meet quarterly for a Thursday night working dinner and a full-day meeting on the Friday.

I will facilitate the meetings personally – between meetings the members will enjoy the benefits of:

  • Virtual access to me and the rest of the 7connections team
  • A monthly “open mike” conference call
  • A monthly 1:1 on-line Personal Progress Interview with me personally
  • A weekly “positive focus” report
  • A private on-line forum to ask questions and share ideas with the group
  • Full access to the 7connection knowledge bank
  • Virtual access available to all of your team members with the 7connections team

I’ve been facilitating Mastermind Groups in UK dentistry since the late 90’s – and the results for members have been phenomenal:

  • Increased bottom-line profit
  • Better trained managers and team members
  • Systems and protocols written and sustainably trained
  • A deeper understanding of the key operational areas of your business

Dare I say it – “more profit in less time with happier people”.

Many of the benefits members have remarked upon have been less tangible.

I’ve been looking back at some of the blog posts I’ve written about Mastermind meetings. My own thoughts and those of the dentists attending:

10th December 2005

1. Permission to play a bigger game.
2. The importance of building a team.
3. The value of community
“We have created a mastermind group here in the last year. They began as a disparate group and have evolved into friends for life. My work is done but the group will live on – and continue to inspire each other.”

16th January 2007

Sunday afternoon I drove down to Birmingham to meet for the first time with our Mastermind Group for 2007.
The energy in the room was electric – a truly inspiring day.
When we first created MMG’s I mistakenly believed that I would be required to come up with sparkling new “advanced” material to engage their interest.
But we quickly discovered they had heard “the basics” but not implemented them all.
So the MMG evolved as an environment for implementation of the standard stuff they had heard me present on the core programme.
Included in the format is time to help each client to deal with specifics – facilitated by the coach but helped by all the other people in the room.
Themes yesterday were:

  • I need to employ a full-time business manager
  • I need to do the Patient Journey basics
  • I need to do the marketing basics
  • I’m still overwhelmed and my task list just gets longer

We agreed that, in fact, there was only 1 “to do” on their “to do” list.
The only “to do” is to employ people “to do” the “to do’s” on your “to do” list!
Delegate to a business development manager, do dentistry, communication and leadership and let others do everything else.
“I just wanted to say thank you for a great day, I’ve come home with the sort of buzz that I had after the 4 workshops of the core programmes but better because not only have I had some inspirational coaching from you, I’ve also had some great conversations last night and – during the day – with the other MMG’ers which has given me ideas. I can see that it is already going to build our network of friends too.”
27th May 2007

“Meeting over – and I am overwhelmed with the quantity and quality of the ideas that I’ve gained from my fellow members.
It is very uncomfortable to have your professional life “creatively destroyed” by others – but when:

  • You trust, respect and like them and
  • They don’t have an axe to grind, an agenda, a vested interest or an ego that clashes with yours

Then the intake of fresh air makes the head dizzy for a moment before the common sense of what they are saying sinks in.

And what are they saying?

  • You need to create space
  • You need to do fewer things
  • You need to eliminate tolerations
  • You need to avoid repeating the mistakes of history – don’t solve problems the way you always have done.

All rather scary – but I would rather hear that from this group than any other.
When all the laptops have been put away – it’s been the quality of the conversation that has made the difference.”
