I’m frequently contacted by people who have products and services of relevance to my clients. For over 20+ years I have maintained a policy that I do not accept introducers fees or commissions – I simply broadcast and comment on good ideas. In this case, FTA Media have made a generous offer to donate part of their fees to our charity bike ride in September 2018
At one minute past midnight on the 1st August 1981 MTV went live – the first 24-hour music video channel. The first video ever played was ‘Video Killed the Radio Star’ by The Buggles the irony was full intended.
Roll forward to 2018 and we have become a nation that consumes video, in various forms, at a rate never seen before. There are over 20 videos on YouTube which have been watched over 2 billion times and most were uploaded in the past three years.
I was travelling into London on the underground last week and the majority (and by majority, I mean 90% of people) were using their mobile phone or similar device. Where time is the asset people want information served to them in a style and at a time that suits them, not you. They also want the information quickly and will then decide if you deserve their further attention.
The commuters I shuffled along with could well have watched a short video about teeth whitening and be looking to book an initial consultation. Without video you aren’t even at the party.
In the business arena anyone who is ignoring video as part of their online marketing will be left behind. By 2020 over 80% of all content served online will be video – so which side are you on?
Video doesn’t need to be complicated, expensive and out of your reach. FTA Media, a division of Frank Taylor & Associates, have created packages to make it very affordable. To stay in front of your audience you need to start doing video now – the smart ones started two years ago.
It is also important to present yourself in a way that is relatable and authentic. This is best done by putting you and your team on video – I know, it can feel uncomfortable, but it creates a real connection with people as it’s authentic. Here is Sunil from DentalKind showing how it can be done.
When patients then visit your practice and they meet you and your team it feels congruent and as dentistry is a personal and intimate thing that matters; a lot.
We are so keen that you get to include video as part of your online marketing, we have an amazing deal with FTA Media just for you.
If you purchase a package before 31st July and quote ‘FIVEGOFORTH’ you will receive a 10% discount on our services and a further 5% will be donated to the Five Go Forth campaign raising money for Cancer Research, Bridge2Aid and BrushUpUK.
