Spotting a trend – a new cohort of potential team members emerging

Here’s a trend from the first two of this week’s Extreme Business Workshops (London and Manchester).

The number of new non-clinical team members (Business Development Managers, Marketing Managers and TCOs) who are arriving from a background in retail management.

Because so many of the UK’s high-street retail stores are struggling in the face of competition from retail parks and online shopping (think House of Fraser) good people are either being terminated or seeking their future elsewhere.

Often educated to degree standard but perhaps more importantly, with deep experience of the qualities required to run a successful customer-facing operation and with a “can do” attitude.

I wonder how many people like that are looking for opportunity – and how many are the family, friends and colleagues of your existing patients or team?
