Ahmed Sadiq is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon based in Manchester, who undertakes a full range of Cataract Surgery, Oculoplastics, treatment of Facial Palsy and General Ophthalmology.
He has recently pioneered a treatment for chronic migraine using Botox. About 1-2% of people worldwide suffer from chronic migraine. The pain of migraine headaches can be severe, and is often accompanied by excessive sensitivity to light, loud sounds or smells/odours, as well as nausea and/or vomiting. People who are diagnosed with chronic migraine have usually been getting headaches on 15 or more days in every month for at least 3 months. Experiencing headaches and migraines so frequently has a huge impact on life and what sufferers are able to do.
Ahmed Sadiq’s treatment with Botox is used as a preventative treatment in chronic migraine and may help reduce the number of headache days experienced.
Ahmed is currently looking to team up with dental practices in the North West of England to provide his unique migraine prophylaxis treatment using Botox from their surgeries. The mutual benefit of this will be an increase in the repertoire of that practice and the treatments they provide, and in lieu Ahmed would pay a facility fee for the time used at their premises.
